Dynamics 365 mapping: the short answer

The map component Microsoft documents for Dynamics 365 Sales sits on a record's form. Microsoft's documentation says it "displays the location specified in the address composite columns for the given record" and that "a form can only have one map component" (Microsoft Learn, read 25 October 2026). Lead Mapper puts every record on one map.

For a manager with 40 reps, that is the whole book. Connect Dynamics 365 with your Microsoft login and every Account, Contact and Lead with an address becomes a pin you can filter, route and assign for 40 reps at once. Start free trial

What Dynamics 365 mapping looks like in Lead Mapper

Lead Mapper reads Accounts, Contacts and Leads through Microsoft's Web API, and Address 1, Address 2 and Address 3 of each record become pins of their own.

Your columns keep the display names your org uses and choice columns their Dynamics values, so Owner, Industry or Status become filters and pin colors on day one. A click on a pin opens the record in Dynamics 365.

Dynamics 365 map view: from one record to the whole territory

The map on a Dynamics form answers "where is this customer". A manager with 40 reps asks which 300 accounts sit in the north territory, and who drives to them this week. In Lead Mapper that is one map of every Account, Contact and Lead with heatmaps on top, and every stop a rep marks done goes back to Dynamics as a completed activity.

Dynamics 365 route planning for sales reps

Microsoft documents a map of scheduled work orders in Field Service: "Frontline workers can view their scheduled work orders on a map from the Field Service mobile app." Field Service lists at "$105.00 user/month, paid yearly" and "helps organizations deliver onsite service to customer locations" (Microsoft pricing page and Microsoft Learn, read 25 October 2026).

RepsDynamics 365 Field Service, per year at list price
20$25,200
40$50,400
100$126,000

List price times 12 times reps, by our arithmetic.

Lead Mapper plans sales routes from the accounts already in Dynamics 365 Sales, no work orders needed. Pick the stops on the map, optimize for drive time or distance, and the route lands on the rep's iPhone or Android in drive order, each stop marked done or skipped.

Dynamics 365 territory mapping

Microsoft defines a sales territory as a record: "Create a sales territory to define a geographical area for your business", for "a city, state, or country/region" (Microsoft Learn, read 25 October 2026). In Lead Mapper you draw it on the map around the accounts themselves, split a crowded state in two, and the territory owner goes back to the Owner of every Dynamics account inside it.

Set up Dynamics 365 mapping in five steps

  1. Create your account at app.lead-mapper.com. The 7-day trial needs no credit card.
  2. Pick the Microsoft Dynamics tile on the "Connect Your CRM" screen.
  3. Enter your Organization ID, the first part of your Dynamics URL, then sign in with Microsoft and accept.
  4. Wait for the first sync, which usually takes between 5 and 30 minutes.
  5. Install the app on iPhone or Android and sign in.

The Address 1 check: which records reach the map

Lead Mapper picks up every record with a street, city or ZIP code in Address 1, so that is the field to check before day one.

On Monday, build an Accounts view where Address 1: City does not contain data, sorted by Owner, and send each rep their list. Tuesday's first routes then start from the right door.

FAQ

Questions, answered.

Lead Mapper needs neither: it connects to Dynamics 365 directly. Enter your Organization ID, sign in with Microsoft, and your Accounts, Contacts and Leads are on the map after the first sync, usually 5 to 30 minutes.

Yes, with Lead Mapper. Field Service lists at $105 per user per month, paid yearly (read 25 October 2026); Lead Mapper routes the accounts already in Dynamics, puts the route on the rep's phone in drive order and logs each visit back to Dynamics.
