HubSpot route planning: from your deals to an ordered day for 40 reps, and what stop limits of 25, 70 and 120 mean

HubSpot route planning comes from an app, because HubSpot's own map article never uses the word "route". We read that article and the pricing pages of the main route planners for HubSpot on 9 October 2026, held each limit against 3,508 planned field routes, and priced it for 25 and 50 reps.

HubSpot route planning: the short answer

HubSpot route planning is not a HubSpot feature. HubSpot's map view article (last updated September 28, 2026) says "the map view displays up to 500 records for a specific area" and describes no stop order, no drive time and no route. The word "route" does not appear in it.

The median field day has 7.8 stops, and they only pay off in the right order. In the Lead Mapper Field Sales Benchmark 2026 (3,508 planned routes), the team median route has 7.8 stops and 114 drive minutes, and the middle half of routes runs 6 to 22 stops. Most route tools for HubSpot plan one rep's day well. What separates them is how many reps and days they plan in one run, where the stops come from, and what goes back into HubSpot afterwards.

Lead Mapper turns HubSpot deals into routes for the whole team. It reads your companies, contacts and deals with their pipeline stages, optimises routes up to 6,000 stops, draws territories by drive time and gives every rep a drive mode on the phone. $27 per user per month, no seat minimum, a 7 day trial without a sales call. For 25 reps that is $8,100 a year, against $17,400 for Badger Maps Business and $29,700 for Map My Customers on their annual rates. Connect HubSpot and see your first routes within 30 minutes.

Monday at 7:40 with 40 reps and a full HubSpot pipeline

The deals are in HubSpot and the addresses sit on the companies, but nobody owns Tuesday. So each rep builds it alone: one copies addresses into a maps app, one drives to the customer who called last, one repeats last month's loop. Nobody is lazy. The CRM stores deals. Nobody stores the day.

The benchmark puts numbers on that Monday. 40 reps at the median plan 312 stops a day and 1,560 a week (model: 40 x 7.8 x 5). A planned route carries 114 drive minutes, so the team sits about 380 hours a week in the car. Take 10 minutes off every route and 33 hours come back each week, four full rep days.

HubSpot route planning starts where the map view stops: 500 pins, 0 routes

HubSpot's map shows contacts and companies by location, on Enterprise subscriptions, after enrolment in the Flexible CRM Views beta. In HubSpot's words: "the map view displays up to 500 records for a specific area. It's recommended to use filters to narrow the field of view." What the map does and does not show is covered on our HubSpot map view page. This page starts after the pins are on it.

500 records divided by the team median of 7.8 stops are 64 routes of raw material, none of them in order. Splitting them into days, sequencing the stops and estimating the drive is the work between the map and the rep. That work is HubSpot route planning, and it is what Lead Mapper does from the same HubSpot data, without an Enterprise upgrade.

Stops per run: 25, 70, 120 or 6,000 against a day of 7.8

Most route tools for HubSpot publish how many stops they optimise in one run. We took each number from the vendor's own pricing or product page on 9 October 2026 and set it against the benchmark.

For one rep's day even 25 stops are enough; the middle half of benchmark routes tops out at 22. The limit decides whether a manager plans the team in one pass: 40 reps at the median are 312 stops a day and 1,560 a week. Mapsly says it plainly on its pricing page: "Essential plans one rep's day; Pro and Enterprise plan the whole field team over several days in a single run."

After the stop: who writes the visit back to HubSpot

A route is half the loop. The other half is the note after the meeting. Here is each pricing page in its own words.

  • Badger Maps Business: "2-way, real time CRM integration: single object, unlimited records". In HubSpot a visit sits on a company, a contact and a deal; read "single object" with that in mind.
  • Mapsly: "from Pro, edits made in Mapsly push back to your CRM instantly". Essential is not Pro.
  • Maptive: "From Contacts, Companies, or Deals, export the records you want with their address properties as a CSV", or connect through its API. A CSV is a photograph of HubSpot at the moment of export.

Lead Mapper reads companies, contacts and deals together, with their pipelines and stage labels, and the pin shows each deal's name, amount and stage. We set up the write-back of visits and notes to HubSpot for your team, across the records your reps work in, together with the territories and the first routes, so Wednesday's route starts from what happened on Tuesday.

What HubSpot route planning costs at 25 and 50 reps

HubSpot stays on the plan you have. Lead Mapper is $27 per user per month, billed monthly. Badger Business and Map My Customers are shown at their published annual rates.

RepsLead Mapper per monthLead Mapper per yearBadger Business per year, annual billingMap My Customers per year, annual billing
25$675$8,100$17,400$29,700
50$1,350$16,200$34,800$59,400

Our arithmetic from published per user prices: 25 x $27 x 12 = $8,100; 25 x $58 x 12 = $17,400; 25 x $99 x 12 = $29,700. Against Badger Business that is $9,300 a year kept at 25 reps and $18,600 at 50, and $12,600 at 25 against its monthly rate of $69. Against Map My Customers it is $21,600 and $43,200. Moving 25 Sales Hub Professional seats to Enterprise for HubSpot's own map is a $20,000 first year, worked out on HubSpot map view, and that map still draws no route.

Tomorrow morning: one hour, 40 reps, 312 stops

This works on your own HubSpot data this afternoon.

  • Start from each rep's real start point, home or depot, not the office.
  • Draw a 45 minute drive time area around it and count the companies with an open deal inside. Fewer than 6 and the area is too small for a day; more than 22 and it is two days (the benchmark's middle half runs 6 to 22 stops).
  • Colour the pins by deal stage and take the 7 or 8 pins in your target stage that sit closest together. That is the median day of 7.8 stops, pointed at the money.
  • Keep one spare from the same area. More than 1 in 3 planned stops ends with the rep departing from the plan (team median 37.2 percent).

Run it for 5 reps first. If 4 of the 5 areas land between 6 and 22 deals, the method fits your book; roll it out to the other 35 the same afternoon. If one stop sits 70 minutes from the other seven, the territory is wrong, not the rep. Or send us your reps' start points and we build the first drive time territories with you. Run it on your HubSpot deals.

HubSpot route planning in Lead Mapper, four steps

  1. Connect HubSpot. Sign in through OAuth. Companies, contacts and deals arrive on the map within 30 minutes, deals with their pipeline stage on the company and contact pins, custom properties included. Invite your reps by email.
  2. Filter and colour. Filter by any HubSpot property and colour the pins by deal stage or a custom property.
  3. Draw territories. Draw by hand or generate drive time areas from 1 to 60 minutes, and assign each to a rep.
  4. Route to the phone. Each rep gets the stops in the best order with an arrival time per stop and a lateness flag on any stop with a set visit time. We set up team runs up to 6,000 stops. Drive mode navigates stop by stop in Google Maps or Apple Maps. Export to PDF, image, KML, JSON, CSV, GPX or a calendar file.

FAQ

Does HubSpot have route planning?

Through an app, yes; in HubSpot itself, no. HubSpot's map view article (last updated September 28, 2026) says the map view displays up to 500 records for a specific area and describes no route. Lead Mapper reads your companies, contacts and deals and plans the stop order for every rep, from $27 per user per month.

How many stops can a HubSpot route planner optimise?

It depends on the tool: 25 per routing session on Mapsly Essential, 70 on Maptive, 120 on Badger Maps Business; at Lead Mapper we set up team runs up to 6,000 stops. In the Lead Mapper Field Sales Benchmark 2026 the team median route has 7.8 stops and the middle half runs 6 to 22.

What does HubSpot route planning cost for 25 reps?

Lead Mapper is $675 a month, $8,100 a year. Badger Maps Business is $17,400 a year on annual billing and Map My Customers $29,700 a year with a 5 user minimum. All our arithmetic from published per user prices.

Can a route planner write visits back to HubSpot?

Badger Maps Business publishes 2-way sync for a single object; Mapsly writes back from its Pro plan. At Lead Mapper we set up the write-back of visits and notes to HubSpot for your team, together with the territories and the first routes.

Do I need HubSpot Enterprise for route planning?

No. HubSpot's own map view is listed under Enterprise subscriptions and the Flexible CRM Views beta, and it draws no route. Lead Mapper connects to any HubSpot account by OAuth for $27 per user per month.

Can I route HubSpot deals by pipeline stage?

Yes. Lead Mapper reads deals with their pipeline and stage labels, shows name, amount and stage on the pin, and lets you filter and colour the map by the deal stage property before you build the route.

How fast can a HubSpot team start?

Your HubSpot companies, contacts and deals are on the map within 30 minutes of connecting. The 7 day trial starts without a sales call and there is no seat minimum, so a pilot can begin with one rep at $27 a month.

Where this comes from

HubSpot's behaviour is quoted from its knowledge base article on the map index view (last updated September 28, 2026). Competitor data paths, stop limits and prices are from each vendor's own pricing or product page, read on 9 October 2026; Mapsly publishes prices only in a calculator, so stop limits are quoted from its pricing page and no price is shown. HubSpot's Sales Hub seat prices as cited on our HubSpot map view page. Team costs are our multiplication of published per user prices. Route and drive figures: Lead Mapper Field Sales Benchmark 2026, 3,508 planned routes, October 2025 to September 2026; weekly hours are a model of one planned route per rep per working day.
